Florence Bed and Breakfast

I absolutely loved our bed and breakfast in Florence. We booked a superior room at Residenza d'Epoca Home in Palace on Venere which is now Hotels.com. I love Hotels.com because they offer discounts on top of their already great prices, and the site is great for finding luxury boutique properties that really make you feel like a local. Usually, I filter by Guest Rating instead of Star Rating to find unique accommodations.

This hotel is walking distance from the Firenze SMN station and just past the Florence Academy of Fine Arts. In the mornings, you can find artists in the square just outside painting and trying to capture that special golden hour light.

As the name suggests, this property is actually the former palace, Palazzo Capponi, which has been restored into a number of private residences in addition to this boutique hotel on the top floor. However, the palace still maintains most of its original decor. To access the hotel, you take an old fashioned elevator up to the top floor and then ascend an iron spiral staircase. Once inside, the hotel is feels welcoming, stylish, and private.

The hotel staff is very accommodating, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room had a large bed and a private ensuite marble bathroom. It was very quiet and perfect for our short visit. All of the rooms looked gorgeous and some even offer a private terrace. We enjoyed having breakfast in the dining room which offered an expansive view of Florence and the surrounding hillsides.

I hope to return to this hotel someday. We actually tried to book it on our latest visit, but it was already full, so don't delay if you want to stay here!
